Start your day by heading towards the Guma Valley Dam, a scenic location inside the well-covered forest vegetation.
Upon entering the Dam area, you can get a splendid view from the valley's top. Enter into the tranquil forest lands of Guma Valley and spend the whole day birding.
The afternoon has lunch on the banks of River No: 2 which is the primary source of water for Guma Valley Dam.
Late afternoon you can visit the Picathartes Breeding colony inside the forest.
Picathartes also called Rockfowl or Bald Crows are ancient birds that are believed to be living in these forests for over 44 million years.
After watching these ancient birds closely, return back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 A DAY AROUND THE RIVER NUMBER
Early morning start your Birding day with an engaging boat trip through the meandering creeks of the number two river.
You can spot several other rare species of birds like the Green Turaco, Brown Cheeked Hornbill, Yellow Casqued Hornbill, Great Blue Turaco, and Pied Crow and animals like the Diana monkey are endemic to the west African coast and forests of Sierra Leone.
Hike through the wildlife trails brimming with natural sound, for lunch we carry a box lunch. The evening after a full day of birding along the forests near Tokeh.
Evening return to River Number two beach, enjoy a breezy evening and glorious sunset at one of the most beautiful beaches of Sierra Leone.
At night enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 FINAL DAY FOR BIRDING IN THE WILDERNESS OF SIERRA LEONE
Start your hike early in the morning for birding around the untouched forest lands of Regent Forest around the Kongo Dam area. Look out for the species you have missed the previous day and spot the maximum avian fauna you can.
Afternoon have the well-prepped box lunch (simple yet energizing 😊)
Late afternoon you can continue your hike and birding in the Grafton plains, a small coastal town.
Evening returns back to the hotel for dinner & transfer back to the nearest airport for journey back to home.
